Contemporary Kids
This all-levels Contemporary class introduces young movers (ages 7 to 12) to expressive movement, musicality, and creativity. Through guided improvisation, technique drills, and age-appropriate combos, kids will grow in confidence, coordination, and emotional expression.
Special Instructions:
- Wear comfortable dance attire (leggings, fitted top) and socks or barefoot
- Bring water and come ready to move and explore
- Please arrive 5–10 minutes early so we can start on time
- No prior experience needed — everyone is welcome!

Contemporary Adults – Level 1
Brand new to contemporary dance? This class is your safe and supportive starting point. You’ll learn foundational movements, floorwork, transitions, and how to express yourself through flow and musicality. No judgment — just movement, growth, and freedom.
Special Instructions:
- Wear comfortable clothing you can stretch in
- Barefoot or socks preferred
- Bring water and an open mind
- No experience required — all bodies and backgrounds welcome

Contemporary Adults – Level 2
For dancers with previous experience in contemporary, ballet, or jazz. This class focuses on deeper movement quality, floorwork transitions, fluid expression, and more advanced improvisation tools. You’ll also explore storytelling and intention behind your dancing.
Special Instructions:
- Level 1 or prior contemporary experience required
- Barefoot or socks recommended
- Bring water and be ready to dive deeper emotionally and physically

Additional Class Details
Arrival & Preparation
- Arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in and warm up
- Wear comfortable clothing that allows free movement.
- Dance shoes or smooth-soled sneakers are recommended. Avoid rubber soles that stick to the floor.
Partner Work & Rotation
- No partner required – rotations help improve adaptability and connection
- Respect your partners and maintain a comfortable dance frame
- Leads should initiate movements smoothly, and follows should stay responsive without anticipating
Technique & Execution
- Keep steps small and controlled to stay connected to the music
- Engage your core and posture for better balance and fluidity.
- Focus on body isolations – chest, hips, and head movements are key to Sensual Bachata
Social Dance Etiquette
- Maintain good hygiene – wear deodorant, bring breath mints, and wear fresh clothes
- Be patient and encouraging with fellow students.
- Avoid giving unsolicited feedback – let the instructors provide guidance
Practice & Progression
- Practice outside of class to reinforce what you’ve learned
- Watch video recaps when provided and attend socials to apply your skills
- Sensual Bachata is about connection, not just moves – focus on the feeling, not just memorizing steps
